Literacy Logic is a company built by two teachers who have a passion for learning and literacy. Kjersten and Ali have created an online platform for students and families to extend and enrich their learning from the comfort of wherever they are. Once enrolled, students and families gain access to our Pathways that work through standards based curriculum with instructional videos, read alouds, printable study tools, education for families on the science of reading and writing, strategies to use at home, and so much more. Pay-per session tutoring is extremely expensive. We have figured out a way to bring personalized lessons to you for less using the teachable online platform. Not only does this cut travel costs for you, but we offer access to ALL our lessons, printable PDF”s, and other educational tools at a fraction of the cost. You can review and use as much as you like!

Online = flexibility. Your family will not need to travel or adhere to rigid schedules. Whether it's in the morning or evening, your child can access quality education from the comfort of your home eliminating unnecessary travel time and stress.

Our Pathway design based on reading research which includes things like journaling with the goal of making connections to text, read alouds which help with literacy fluency when done in a consistent format, vocabulary and practice with specific content such as summarization, point of view, and context clues.

Frequent transitions between reading, writing, speaking, and listening will always appear in each pathway in hopes of establishing engagement and focus. This is something that both Ali and Kjersten incorporate into their classrooms and want to bring that into your home.

What you should expect your student to do: materials (always posted above each video and typically include something to write on and something to write with, PDF print out’s are provided for certain lessons. They are encouraged but not required for learning to occur.

Encourage your child to pause the videos; this will happen frequently as students will want time to process and practice new concepts. Working 10-15 minutes a day, working at your own pace…that is what makes us different. You can repeat things (slow down, or speed up). There is something available for everyone.
